The Australian Electoral Commission office in Indonesia is offering Indonesian university students the opportunity to undertake a one-month internship at its office in Jakarta:

The purpose of this program is for students to gain experience in the work of the AEC Indonesia office where their education experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments. At the end of the internship period, interns will receive an internship certificate and, if needed, a recommendation letter.

The AEC is responsible for conducting federal elections and referendums and maintaining the Australian Commonwealth electoral roll. The AEC also provides a range of electoral information and education programs and activities.

Under the Australia Indonesia Electoral Support Program (AIESP), AEC Indonesia’s main mission is to provide assistance and build capacity within the Indonesian Electoral Commission (KPU). The program is funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and is expected to run from 2011 until 2015.
