  • Adelaide, 5 May – AIYA SA will be going to the Crows v Fremantle game on Sunday afternoon. Follow the FB event for the link to purchase tickets!
  • Adelaide, 6 May – AIYA SA play futsal every Monday night at Flinders Uni. Message them via the FB page if you’re keen to join in.
  • Brisbane, 23 May – Get set to join AIYA Queensland for a Buka Puasa x Slang Language Exchange from 5pm at Sendok Garpu, Indooroopilly. Further details will soon be posted on the AIYA QLD FB page.  
  • Canberra, TONIGHT – AIA is hosting a Trivia Night at the Kingston Hotel starting from 6pm. The Trivia questions will cover both Australian and Indonesian questions. Book now.
  • Kupang, 4 May – Come join AIYA East Indo-Kupang’s Morning Run ‘Lari Pagi’ with MITRA Mobile Library from 6.00 WITA at Jalan El Tari. More info available here.
  • Melbourne, 4 May – PPIA Monash x LPDP Monash presents the Indonesian Students Symposium Australia (ISSA) 2019. With the theme “Millennial: Envisioning Creative Industry 4.0”, ISSA is being held to empower students and inspire them to join the creative industry. Tickets are only $15 (BUY 5 GET 1 FREE!).   • Melbourne, 8 May Come to AIYA Vic’s LX every Wednesday at 6pm, RMIT Building 80.
  • Melbourne, 11 May – Join AIYA VIC for a morning of badminton at Monash Caulfield. All levels welcome. This event is GRATIS for AIYA members and just $5 for non-members (you can become a member on the day). Follow the FB event and RSVP here. Ayo, bermain bulutangkis bersama AIYA Victoria!
  • Sydney, 4 May – Come join AIYA NSW on Saturday for the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk! It’s a great chance to enjoy the last of Sydney’s warm weather and hang out with fellow AIYA members. To register, follow this link and follow the FB event too!
  • Yogyakarta, 5 May – Feel like going for a jog? Join AIYA Yogya from 7am @ Wisdom Park, UGM for some early morning exercise.
  • Yogyakarta, 7 May – AIYA Yogya will host RRI Pro 2 Futsal from 5 – 7pm every Tuesday. It is 15k for members and 20k for non-members. Check out the video to see just how fun futsal is! #YukOlahraga!

  • The Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) program are seeking to hire a: Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, a Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist, a Senior International Adviser for Urban Water and Sanitation, and a Gender, Social Inclusion and Civil Society Engagement Strategic Advisor. These applications close at 5pm (Jakarta time) on 6 May 2019. They are also seeking to hire a Research Officer (Economic and Inclusion) and an Economist. Applications for these roles close 5pm (Jakarta time) on 10 May 2019.
  • Apply now to join the 2019 National Australia Indonesia Language Awards (NAILA) Committee! They’re recruiting for a number of volunteer positions in Partnerships, Engagement, Communications, Creative, Programs, and Translations.   • ACICIS are currently seeking input from key stakeholders regarding arrangements to be made to honour and celebrate the achievements of ACICIS founding Consortium Director Professor David T Hill.   • Prospera is seeking a number of interns, for placements up to six months, to assist with range of skills including data collection, cleaning and analyses; reviews of literature; written and oral translation; communications, research, and logistical support.   • The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan has collaborated with Australia Awards in Indonesia, Mulawarman University, and the University of Adelaide to provide a Split-Site Master’s Scholarship Program for high school and vocational school English teachers in East Kalimantan, for the academic year of 2019-2021.   • The ASEAN Emerging Researchers Conference 2019 in Cambridge, England will be held on 6 July 2019, the theme for the ASEAN ERC 2019 is ‘Answers to Global Challenges – Sustainability’. Abstract submissions are due on 20 May 2019.
  • Call for student volunteers! University students in Yogyakarta are invited to participate in a two-week research project focusing on issues of disability and social inclusion in Indonesia, alongside students from the University of Sydney. SSEAC is looking for 4 – 6 local student volunteers to participate, running from 3 – 12 July 2019. Learn more about this fantastic opportunity!
  • The ANU Indonesia Institute invites panel and paper proposals for the Indonesia Council Open Conference (ICOC), to be held on 19 – 21 November. Submissions are welcome from established scholars in all disciplines, as well as from postgraduate and graduate students and other experts to present their research. Submission deadline for papers and panel proposals is 1 June. Submit here!
  • SSEAC Research Conference is calling for papers. The conference will bring together expertise on Southeast Asia from University of Sydney postgraduates and the early career researchers community. Submission deadline is Monday 27 May and conference will be held 24 June. Submit papers here and register to attend.
  • Would you like to be a part of the 38th Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP)? Applications for Aussie participants in AIYEP38 are now open until 16 June 2019! Check out the website for information on how to apply!
  • Applications are now open for the ACICIS six-week Business Professional Practicum (BPP), running in Jakarta in January-February 2020. $3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants are available to support eligible Australian undergraduate students. Applications close 1 July 2019.
  • The New Colombo Plan Scholarship Program provides opportunities for Australian undergraduate students to undertake semester-based study and internships or mentorships in 40 participating Indo-Pacific locations. Applications from nominated students open on 16 July and close on 14 August 2019. Students interested in the program are advised to contact their international liaison office. Learn more here!
  • ReelOzInd! 2019 is open for submissions! Take part in another spectacular tour of Indonesian and Australian storytelling and creativity. Filmmakers, aspiring filmmakers and anyone who can get their hands on video recording device are invited to submit a film of 10 minutes duration or less, in keeping with the theme ‘berubah/change’.
