We’re excited to announce that we’re looking for a chapter president to lead AIYA’s forthcoming launch in Tasmania.

Starting immediately, the position would involve the overall coordination and oversight of AIYA’s Tasmanian chapter, reporting directly to our national committee – specifically, the Director of Operations, and the Executive Director.

You’d also be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the chapter, charing regular meetings, and representing AIYA at events in your state. As Chapter President, you would also be the national executive’s main point of contact in Tasmania.

Our ideal candidate would have completed – or be undertaking – a bachelor’s degree, with a strong interest in the Australia-Indonesia relationship, good Indonesian language skills and experience in community or student organisations. The applicant should also be based in Tasmania.

Like all roles within AIYA, this is a volunteer position – we expect a time commitment of 1-1.5 days per week. The position would be up for review in January, 2014.

Download the full position description, or read more about AIYA. You can read more about our chapters in Australia and Indonesia in the ‘About’ section.

To apply, send a 250-word email outlining why you think Tasmania needs an AIYA chapter, and why you would be suited to the position to [email protected]. Applications are open until the 4th of February, 2013.
