  • Sydney, 5 – 28 June – Emerging visual Indonesian artist Jayanto Damanik Tan (born in Indonesia and based in Australia) is displaying his interactive performance installation, ‘Ritual Everywhere But Nowhere’ that explores the identity and politics of diaspora at Gallery 4. More details here.
  • Sydney, 15 June – Celebrate the election of Joko Widodo and running mate Maruf Amin, accompanied with food, music and a cultural show at the Addison Road Community Centre, Marrickville, from 12pm. Register your attendance.
  • Sydney, 17 June – AIBC NSW invite you to join the ASEAN Business Councils and Dentons for an informative panel discussion and networking evening that will focus on the impact, opportunities and challenges of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between Australia and the ASEAN region.   • Call for papers! The Asian Society for Pediatric Research (ASPR) and the Indonesian Pediatric Society are taking submissions for their joint conference in Manado from 7 to 11 September. Submissions deadline TODAY. More details are available here.

  • The ANU Indonesia Institute invites panel and paper proposals for the Indonesia Council Open Conference (ICOC), to be held on 19 – 21 November.   • ACICIS Yogyakarta is hiring a Program Assistant (PA). This is an entry-level position and would suit a university graduate with an interest in Education, Cultural Studies, Australian-Indonesia relations.   • DFAT has launched their iSAY Essay Competition aimed at promoting understanding of the many ways that trade has benefited Australia and the world.   • The New Colombo Plan Scholarship Program provides opportunities for Australian undergraduate students to undertake semester-based study and internships or mentorships in 40 participating Indo-Pacific locations.
