  • Join AIYA East Indonesia – Kupang committee! They’re now accepting nominations for the executive positions of: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Events Officer and Communications Officer, ahead of the AGM on 28 September 2019. Apply here by 25 September 2019!
  • The Indonesian Consulate in Darwin is hosting FREE Indonesian classes for beginners and intermediate levels, from 16 September. See more information here.
  • Cardno Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice 2 (AIPJ2) are seeking an Activity Manager for Aceh to play an integral role in managing AIPJ2 activities in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam and providing professional services as the main contact point for AIPJ2 with the Regional Government.   • ACICIS is calling for Expressions of Interest for a Tour Leader for the Public Health Study Tour (PHST), running in November-December 2019.   • The SSEAC Grant Scheme supports engagement with Southeast Asia through funding support for research, mobility and language study. Take a look at the nine grants available and apply by 27 September 2019.
  • IndoAustay are running the next Adult Language Immersion Course in Bandung, 6 – 17 January, 2020. The two-week course is taught at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Bandung and is a great way to learn more about Indonesian language and culture.   • The Herb Feith Scholarships scheme is a new initiative of the Monash Herb Feith Indonesian Engagement Centre. Scholarships support graduate researchers to complete an MA or PhD at Monash University on a topic related to Indonesia.   • The University of Western Australia is establishing a node of the Australia-Indonesia Centre (AIC) and wishes to appoint a Postdoctoral Scholar to undertake research related to contemporary Indonesia as part of the broader research efforts of the AIC.   • The Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) is seeking host families in Canberra for the period 14 October to 1 November 2019. AIYEP Host families will be provided with supermarket and/or fuel vouchers to the value of A$600 for the period as a token of thanks for sharing their home.   • The ASEAN Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) 2019 will be held from 18-20 November 2019 in Malaysia and is themed ‘Building Quality Assurance and Sustainability in International Education’. More information on how you can attend can be found on their website.
  • The Asia Centre’s 5th International Conference (to be held in Bangkok, July 2020) will focus on ‘Hate Speech in Asia: Challenges and Solutions. They are now accepting abstracts until 15 December 2019. Submit yours and/or register for the conference here.
  • Pemberdayaan Perempuan Memerangi Kemiskinan (PPMK) is a microfinance organisation based in Yogyakarta that work to empower women to fight poverty. They also provide free English classes to children and are currently working to establish an English book library, so children can continue learning at home.
