  • Adelaide, 28 October – AIYA SA play futsal every Monday night at Flinders Uni. Message them via the FB if you’re keen to join in.
  • Bali, 3-5 November – Join the Indonesia-Australia Business Council (IABC) at their biannual conference along with leading government and business representatives. This conference willnot only will it focus on important milestones between both countries such as the IA-CEPA but for the first time this conference will feature a youth panel hosted by AIYA! Seven lucky AIYA members have received free tickets to the event so for those who missed out or are not yet AIYA members please consider attending, you can register via the IABC website.
  • Brisbane, 30 November – AIYA Queensland will be hosting their Annual General Meeting (AGM) from 11am at Sendok Garpu, Indooroopily. See event details – including how to apply for new committee.
  • Canberra, 2 November – Try your hand at the Indonesian Government’s Indonesian language proficiency test, known as Ujian Kemahiran Bahasa Indonesia (UKBI). It’s a free, abbreviated pilot – to be held at the Indonesian embassy. Learn more and register before 27 October 2019.
  • Canberra, November 19-21 – The ANU Indonesia Institute is hosting the Indonesia Council Open Conference (with a postgraduate workshop on November 19). It is a free conference with multiple panels on many aspects of Indonesian society, politics, culture, environment, history and more. Please see the program hereregister now!
  • Jakarta, 5 November – AIYA Jakarta are hosting a knowledge-sharing session entitled, ‘Sharing the Future through Investment’ at Go Food Festival, Gelora Bung Karno Gate 4, from 7pm. See their IG for more details.
  • Jakarta, 30 November – The Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP) is the country’s biggest festival of diplomacy and also happens to be the world’s largest foreign policy conference. The chosen theme for this year is “Cooling Off The Hot Peace: Strategic Opportunities and Economic Remedies for a Distressful World,”. Register for their annual event here.
  • Melbourne, 6 November – Come to AIYA Vic’s LX every Wednesday at 6pm, RMIT Building 80.
  • Melboune, 8 November – UniMelb’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Music and the Australia-Indonesia Centre invite you to the launch of Trading Cultures, a film that traces an artistic exchange which saw artists from Rumata’ Artspace and Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre travel to Makassar, Indonesia and Bawaka in East Arnhem Land in December 2018.   • Melbourne, 14 November – Join Tim Watts MP for Asia Society Australia’s first book club event as he discusses ‘The Golden Country: Australia’s Changing Identity’, reassessing ‘Australianess’ through a deep dive into Australia’s race and immigration history.
