Owen is a final year student in a Bachelor of Arts (Honours)/Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney. He has studied in both Australia and Indonesia focusing on Indonesian governance and is currently working as a research assistant at the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre. Through his long-term academic interest in Indonesia, Owen became involved with AIYA and has worked for the organisation in various roles over the last three years including as the 2017-18 NSW Chapter President. He is a firm believer that a closer relationship between Australia and Indonesia would be immensely beneficial to both countries and is a tireless advocate for a stronger bilateral relationship.
