Sam Shlansky believes Australia and Indonesia will be firm friends which is why he joined AIYA. He knows from a Bachelor of Arts with Honours at Monash University that Indonesia is an exciting place to explore. His Diploma of Youth Work at RMIT makes it clear that young people are the future. Living abroad for an ACICIS semester of Development studies cemented this belief. Another chance with AIYEP proved the power of people; Sam loved learning the stories and strengths of his host community. Over 10 years of Indonesian studies drives this passion for Indonesia. Since moving from Warrnambool Sam has had a variety of AIYA Victoria Chapter roles and is a committed volunteer for a variety of other organisations. Sam is excited to work with members and communities to connect Indonesia and Australia.
