“It’s hard to understand how completely this will change almost everything about our region.”

In this week’s video from the first Conference of Australian and Indonesian Youth, Melbourne University’s Professor Tim Lindsey speaks about Indonesia’s growing importance.

Professor Lindsey argues that many Australians misunderstand Indonesia, despite a fifth of its population having visited Bali — noting a divergence between the views of governments and the general public toward the bilateral relationship.

His closing words? “The solutions are obvious: we need to do something about Asia-literacy.”
