What is your occupation/What do you study?

I am a law student in Universitas Gadjah Mada

What is your most memorable culture shock experience?

One day I gave presents to my Aussie friend and they opened it in front of me. I was quite shocked. Then I remembered once I read an article stated that it was customary in Australia.

What is your favourite place to visit in Indonesia/Australia?

I don’t have any specific name in mind but I like going on a city tour, seeing people, I also love to go to the beach. Any beaches with white sand.

Favourite meal in Indonesia/Australia?

I love satay!

How about your favourite word in Indonesian/English? 

My favourite English word is ‘constellation’

Do you have a favourite Indonesian/Australian film?

Predestination!

How did you first become interested in Indonesia/Australia?

When I was in my first year in uni I volunteered for an event hosted by my faculty in collaboration with a uni from Australia. I had the opportunity to engage with my Australian buddies and found out that they have unique cultures.

What was getting involved with AIYA like?

It was so exciting because it gave me new experiences and great connections.

What do you like most about AIYA?

I like how everything’s handled very simple and professional but fun at the same time.
