  • Indonesia is set to reopen schools with extra cautions starting in July. only 25% of students are allowed to attend the classroom and classroom activities are limited to 2 hours a day. (Jakarta Globe)
  • Public servants in Indonesia will soon be able to work from Bali through a government initiative to revive the tourism and creative economy industry on the island, but the program has also raised some eyebrows. Why is this the case? (ABC News)
  • Indonesia’s energy and mineral resources ministry has raised the country’s target to generate electricity from new and renewable energy from 30% to 48%, which includes co-firing coal with biomass. This is excellent news for the environment! (Argus media)
  • Australia’s largest dinosaur the, Australotitan cooperensis, was discovered in remote Queensland outback. It is so big that it stretches the length of a basketball court, and is as tall as a B-double truck! (The Australian)
  • Bali is among several Indonesian destinations welcoming tourists from next month, but don’t pack your bags just yet! Australian authorities have been clear not to expect much in the way of international travel until at least next year. (ABC News)

  • In late April, AIYA Queensland held a webinar in partnership with the Indonesian Students Association (PPIA) Queensland and Universitas Indonesia’s Society of Renewable Energy.
